I couldn't play R1 remastered because of this, I forgot to retain or to send them and it's a grind that is solved by auto replenishment system. and where did I say auto replenishment means if u have a half unit u get 2 units the next turn? it doesn't mean that but rather than recruiting the same units and spending it to march 2 more turns and sending the damaged unit back for 2 turns then press retrain. The levels and research trees aren't egregious, but the auto replenishment is absolute dogshit and just removes any fork of tacticsįriend, the player steamroll the AI because the Ai can't use what it have like the player does. Only interesting thing was force march but that can be abused by the AI and the player when only generals are allowed armies. You don't automatically raid, you don't automatically ambush by using terrain, just needless added micro to give an illusion of control. Feels more realistic and puts less emphasis on generalsĪrmy stances - made it to cut and dry. The command/management system of R1/M2 is more fluid than hard levels. Levels - soft levelling is always better than hard levelling.
Rome 1 and M2 development feel organic as they don't have an 'unlock this by getting such and such tech' Research trees - makes development way too linear and clear cut. There are no repercussions for playing badly Think we missed one?
